API Engineer MuleSoft (Hybrid - Flexible Options)

Broadridge is hiring an API Engineer MuleSoft to join their Enterprise API Platform Management team. In this role you will leverage, implement, and reinforce the API reference architecture, lifecycle, and mechanics across Broadridge adhering to defined standards of API management and delivery as defined by the API Lead Architect. This extremely innovative API Delivery Engineer role will include the design and implementation of standard API contracts applicable to various applications and programming languages to increase sharing of functionality across the enterprise. These contracts will be extended to API economies outside of Broadridge so external API definitions and reusability will need to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Development / Engineering and Design teams to support and provide oversight in designing and developing integration solutions and prototypes.
• Promote the usage of APIs to cross-pollinate product services while increasing the standardization of APIs across Broadridge.
• Oversee and promote the automation of integration tests, load tests, and performance tests, including facilitating set-up of test data and accounts.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation and self-service resources on integrations.
• Proactively monitor integration performance and troubleshoot, resolve, and report integration issues to impacted teams and stakeholders.
• Understand integration Architecture concepts and patterns, including Microservices, Service Oriented Architecture, Batch Integration, etc.
• Adhere to established development and integration processes, best practices, and standards.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve goals.
• Participate in the technical project planning process with IT business analysts and other business partners.
• Review modules for quality assurance and check compliance with application standards and SLAs.
• Leverage Broadridge's external facing API portal and understand all operational aspects such as HA/DR, monitoring, support etc.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with and in-depth knowledge of Layer7; MuleSoft AnyPoint /Cloud Hub Integration tools; Microservices/API based on MuleSoft API Gateway.
• Experience with system integration technologies (e.g. RESTful APIs, OAUTH 2.0, event brokers, data virtualization).
• Proficiency in relevant coding languages (e.g. Java, C++, Scala, Python, SQL).
• Knowledge of Swagger and OAS3 is required.
• Applied experience with Container Orchestration (EKS, Kubernetes, ECS), Configuration Management tools (Chef & Puppet), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• AWS Cloud experience (AWS API Gateway, Lambda) is required; Knowledge of other cloud providers is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of API design standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Demonstrable experience in data integration and workflow scripting.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD tools related to API lifecycles.
• Hands-on experience in API security standards and implementation (OAuth, OpenId, etc.).
• Understanding of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Knowledge of PING Federate is a plus.
• MuleSoft Developer, Architecture and Operations certifications is a plus.
• Certifications related to API, DevOps and Security is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent applied experience)
