API Solution Architect

The API Solution Architect is responsible for the leadership, develop, analysis, and design of the API management and API Ops practices, supporting our extraordinary company growth projections and digital experiences vision.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish API best practices, guidelines, and standards.
  • Understand Domain driven design (DDD) and establish customer view for OMNI Channel API layers & Microservices.
  • Understand and translate business goals into API(s)
  • Analyzes, influences, and translates business requirements into API architecture.
  • Enable product/technical teams across the organization by promoting a culture of API first approach
  • Builds strong partnership with Data Architecture team to ensure feasibility of architecture solution with data transformation and modernization direction.
  • Ensure solutions are reviewed and aligned with stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving, debugging and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the entire API development life cycle: design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Leverage analytical, quantitative, problem solving and organizational skills that resulted in an outcome
  • Understanding of Customer journeys and finance domain knowledge a plus

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience architecting, leading, developing and supporting integration of scalable applications and/or API solutions
  • 3+ years of experience integrating with API security standards, including Required Strong awareness of latest web standards (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, JWT Tokens, OAuth Tokens & others)and secure coding practices to prevent fraud, abuse.
  • 2+ years of working with API practice, implementing API governance, and evangelizing on API best practices and working with an API Management platform tools
  • 2+ years of implementing CI/CD automation and using software development tools such as GitHub
  • 2+ years of designing and documenting APIs using Open API Specification standards and SwaggerHub
  • 3+ years of working with Java development, 1+ years of Python development experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in defining current and future state architecture models
  • In depth knowledge of cloud platforms AWS(Primary) and GCP(Secondary) along with strong understanding of Security best practices and Well Architecture Framework
  • Experience in migrating monolith on-perm applications to cloud using Refactoring, DDD, Re-architecting and Re-platforming approach including 12factor
  • Experience in DevOps tools, Automated deployments and containerization
  • Consult with customers to solve business problems by adapting current technology and/or capitalizing on emerging technology for competitive advantage to meet the strategic objectives of TIAA
  • Conduct demonstrations and presentations to executive management of prototypes, proof-of-concepts for different patterns.
  • Understanding of agile methods (SAFe) and processes, and capability of supporting agile product teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt

Base Pay Range: $142,600/yr. - $237,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
