About the team
The mission of the AppDynamics Data & Insights team is to craft centralized & trusted data assets, deliver significant insights to the business and encourage a data driven culture across AppDynamics & Cisco! We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team to help build and maintain our Snowflake Data Warehouse.
We are a team of highly motivated individuals who deliver on the vision of self-service data discovery and guided analytics solutions using compelling visualization, web development and open-source extensibility to drive our customer's business strategies, processes, and workflows. We bring our customers inspired development and innovation comprising multiple disciplines across user centric design, application development, data management, analytics, and business strategy.
About the Role
You will be a member of the Data & Insights team, working closely with global data colleagues, and cross-functional business partners.
Data Engineers are passionate about enabling a data driven approach to optimization by sourcing, maintaining, and ensuring the availability of data. They integrate both batch and streaming approaches to support standard business intelligence, as well as decision automation. Data engineers help make data much easier to understand and consume for others and adjust to new technologies quickly.
Who You'll Work With
This position will reside within Product Analytics team. You will provide customer centric support to the business functions, developing data models and pipelines for research, reporting, and machine learning. You will also be responsible for data flow to ensure successful Month End/ Quarter End/ Year End closure.

What will help you succeed in this role:
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• Masters preferred in Technology (computer science, computer engineering, economics, applied math, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative field).
• 5+ years of experience working with large datasets
• 5+ years of experience in SQL/NoSQL
• 3+ years of Experience in Python/R
• Experience with Snowflake / AWS / StreamSets / Jedox preferred
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and client partnership ability
• Process oriented with good documentation skills.
• Detail oriented, analytical, inquisitive and a good listener.
• Ability to effectively collaborate across the organization and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive consensus
What You Will Do
• You will ensure successful Month End/ Quarter End closure, governing the data flows, root causing any potential issues, ensuring data integrity.
• Design architectures for technical systems as to ensure robustness, scalability, and completeness
• Design data integrations and data quality framework.
• Build platforms and systems to manage, store, and transfer data leveraging a wide range of systems.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality.
• Establish processes / structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs and route appropriately using data structures available
• Create and establish design standards and assurance processes for software, systems, and applications development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows and storage requirements
