Job Summary

The Appian Solutions Developer will contribute to creating process-based applications using Business Process Management and RPM Suite (Appian), enabling efficiencies to solve Business problems and enhance processes via automation. The Developer will lead the analysis, design, development, and testing of applications.

Review and verify the implementation of applications according to design best practices, performance, and security using Agile methodology.

The Solutions Developer will have a deep understanding and knowledge of process modeling, user interface designs, and data modeling and can bring best practices, understand the business context and work directly with end-users and system SME's and Product owners to ensure that the functionality of the application meets their requirements. The Developer will interface across several business units, proactively assisting in defining the direction of current and future projects.

The ideal candidate is expected to be hands-on. Perform Appian development, design, etc. when needed. You will act as a technology consultant and work with the technical teams and help with the execution of the solution. Will interact with the Product Owner, Developers, Business and Project Management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies
  • Planning and guiding large and/or complex projects
  • Conceive solutions, build consensus, and sell/execute solutions
  • Prioritization of work to ensure overall business objectives
  • Actively monitors new and emerging technologies, trends, practices, and solutions and assesses their applicability to business initiatives and strategies
  • Collaborates with Product owners on translating business requirements and operational strategy into a long-term, executable solution plan and roadmap
  • Able to contribute to hands-on development and support, Proof of Concept, and demos as needed.
  • Recommending new tools, methodologies, technologies, data, and platforms
  • Providing input on options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impacts for development decisions
  • Contribute as a Dev/Ops team member when needed to fix production issues

Requirements

The qualifications we are looking for are considered a mix of work experience and education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in Appian's BPM development
  • 3+ years using design applications and working within cross-functional / multidisciplinary teams and researching and applying user-centered design principles for complex systems, including Web applications
  • Appian Level 2 Certified Lead, Senior Developer, or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience in Agile SDLC, Java, API programming, and integrations
  • Experience with public cloud platforms and application development platforms (Google Workspace and Microsoft Azure, a plus)
  • Proven track record working with technical, off-shore/nearshore internal-external contractors
