Application Architect-Java & Web Technologies - Sydney - 18mnth FTH

Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader serving as a liaison among business partners technical resources and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting Application Architect-Java & Web Technologies for a 18-month fixed term contract based in Sydney.
You will be part of an Application Development team that is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of development and enhancements. As an Application Architect your responsibilities include –

• Work effectively individually and with team members toward customer satisfaction and success
• Create high and low level design for microservices and APIs as per Westpac WDP standards.
• Develop design documents and review technical documents from Solution Architects for projects in the cards and collections domain and manage the alignment of the program’s architecture to the Bank’s Enterprise Architecture.
• Define technical user stories and track the development activities of the team members
• Lead workshops and engage stakeholders as required from onshore.
• Lead and participate in problem solving to deliver large scale change through process engineering technology and people engagement.
• Design and build deliverables to ensure traceability of the built solution to the architectural principles and business objectives.
• Be keenly aware of timelines and budgeting to deliver in a timely manner

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –

• 3+ years experience as Solution Designer/Architect in microservices API based applications
• Manage and lead large and complex Banking projects and teams across locations preferably in the Cards Originations & Digital Wallets business domain.
• 6+ years of experience in most of the layers of application development.
• Should stitch together end to end applications either on premises environment or on the Cloud for our clients.
• Must have JAVA Microservices API backend development middleware integration and persistent data in NoSQL or RDBMS database.
• Very hands on with coverage of various skills related to all the layers – front end skills like React CSS3 HTML5; backend skills like Java JEE Spring Hibernate Groovy; middleware skills like REST/SOA services APIGEE or APIConnect along with RDBMS and NoSQL skills for persistence.
• Should be proficient in DevOps methodologies and tools; should have knowledge on design patterns
