Application Architect, Salesforce

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Salesforce Architect plays a pivotal role within the Technology Solutions team, tasked with crafting and overseeing Salesforce solutions that align with specific business project contexts and overall strategic execution. This position involves detailed architecture design and implementation management across various domains, including internal and third-party integrations, Salesforce Sales and Marketing Clouds, and related business technology platforms. The Salesforce Architect is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust architecture for core Salesforce applications, ensuring the continued viability of existing technologies and fostering standard, reusable, and consistent development approaches. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure that Salesforce architecture decisions and blueprints are in harmony with the overall Enterprise Architecture framework. The incumbent works hand-in-hand with other department architects to align with team, department, and company objectives. The Salesforce Architect also engages directly with key stakeholders, strategic vendors, and service providers, playing a critical role in planning, designing, and occasionally challenging the application architecture approaches that support cross-functional business needs. This role focuses on aligning these approaches with long-term best practices and sustainable technology roadmaps, specializing in the Salesforce domain of application solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads the design and implementation of Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and IT strategy.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud, providing guidance and leadership to the development team.
• Develops and maintains a robust framework for Salesforce application architecture, including integration with external systems.
• Ensures the adherence to Salesforce best practices and standards across the organization.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions within Salesforce.
• Drives continuous improvement and keeps the team updated with the latest Salesforce features and updates.
• Conducts code reviews, mentors developers, and provides technical leadership and training.
• Supports the development of business cases for new Salesforce initiatives and technologies.
• Contributes to the strategic planning of technology roadmaps, particularly relating to Salesforce and associated systems.
• Oversees the documentation and maintenance of Salesforce system configurations and integrations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology, with a specific focus on Salesforce environments.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a Salesforce Architect role, demonstrating a track record of complex Salesforce solution design and implementation.
• Experience in both Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud is essential.
• A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect preferred.
• Additional Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Developer, Salesforce Certified Administrator, etc., are desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• In-depth knowledge of Salesforce architecture and best practices.
• Strong understanding of CRM and marketing automation workflows.
• Experience with API-led connectivity and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in Salesforce development environments and the Salesforce Lightning platform.
• Familiarity with database and application design, development, and deployment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on delivering scalable Salesforce solutions.
