Application Developer
Job Description
Must be located in Indianapolis, IN or a surrounding city.
At POLARIS Laboratories®, we provide timely testing of the oil, coolant, fuel and grease running through customer's equipment paired with reliable analysis and maintenance recommendations so they can take action to increase overall equipment reliability. Purpose:
The Application Developer's primary role is to develop new software applications to meet both internal and external customer needs and support the strategic initiatives of the company:
Essential Functions
• New application development using technologies such as react.js, node.js, as well as various other development and deployment tools. Development of front end application components and layouts, back end application services, database structure and development;
• Ability to function well within an Agile Development process, including participating in backlog development, grooming and sizing. Participation in sprint planning, sprint retros as well as participating in review of team pull requests and general development activities.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability
• Develop APIs with Node
• Develop responsible user interfaces with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Understand complicated state management (Redux, Vuex, etc.)
• Write automated software unit and integration tests
• Work as a team in an Agile environment
• Work directly with US/UI designers
• Maintain/support customer applications Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years' work experience with commercial software development as a software developer
• A Bachelor's Degree in technology related disciplines OR equivalent real-world experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Fetch API, REST API development. Other Duties
• Adherence and support of the POLARIS Employee Handbook inclusive of the Standards of Conduct
• Knowledge of and adherence to documented policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
