POSITION SUMMARY:
- Amerisource Bergen (AB) is looking for a Sitecore Application developer.
- This role will report to our Sitecore Technical Lead and be a member of AB's larger marketing technology group.
- The Sitecore Application developer will primarily involve hands-on development of solutions in Sitecore and an in-depth understanding of the best practices in developing and enhancing Sitecore websites.
- The candidate must have good knowledge of the .Net framework and web applications development.
- The role will also be required to follow all the processes and standards in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Individuals within the Application Development role work closely with clients, our product owners and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
- These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and be in compliance with the organization's architectural standards.
- Application Developers are involved in the full systems life cycle and therefore are responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
- Responsibilities beyond development of software may include participation in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing processes and buy vs. build recommendations. Individuals also provide input to project plans related to the application development initiative.
- Application Developers have a strong knowledge of programming languages used by the organization.
- They have experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies.
- Knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services and processes is required.
- Individuals must be able to adjust to constant business change.
- Common types of changes include introduction of new organizations through mergers and acquisitions, evolving goals and strategies and emerging technologies.
- These changes require integration of solutions that can impact the overall system development activity.
- Application Developers also provide client support, consultation and subject matter expertise for system development, maintenance and support.
- This individual works on moderately to complex tasks in support of one or more project as a project team member, or independently on small projects.
- They may support multiple applications and have increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge of a specific business area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under guidance of Sitecore product owner and practice lead, develop new features and functionality within our multi-tenet SiteCore implementation.
- Trouble shoot and resolve SiteCore code-based issues across our 20+ Sitecore websites, etc
- Work with the team to create new Sitecore site nodes within our existing instance.
- Continually monitor and evaluate websites to create the best overall user experience through regular site audits that review content accuracy, site functionality, link integrity and consistency
- Develop new modules based on input from content authors and our product owners.
- Determine the best layout and templates/modules to use to accomplish project goals and objectives
- Customize workflows, write quality documentation to support work, write unit and automated web tests to validate the system
- Reliably estimate development time for key deliverables
- Communicate effectively with client stakeholders and project team about deliverables, open issues and requirements
- Lead end-to-end (conception, development, maintenance and evolution) implementation of digital solutions using Sitecore
- Create technical documentation
- Work with our project team to translate documented web/IA design, personas and user requirements into an optimally functioning website and interactive solutions
- Participate in project planning processes
- Provides ongoing maintenance of applications
- Will troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops solutions
- May provide recommendations for the solutions
What your background should look like
- Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 3-5 years of programming experience.
- Requires programming experience with mid to advanced level application development.
- Sitecore certification is ideal
- Intermediate-level programming skills in .NET.
- Understanding of modern application frameworks like React, Vue or Angular a plus
- Solid understanding of web development, information architecture, CMS, integrated technologies, and digital marketing
- Maintain and enhance current and legacy Sitecore web applications. Sitecore 10.0 knowledge a plus.
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical clients and coworkers
- Experience with SCRUM/Agile development methodologies
- Self-starter with the ability to learn through on the job experience and a want to grow with the role.
- Experience with Source control tools (Bitbucket/GIT)
- Experience with Salesforce and Azure a plus.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Intermediate-level programming skills in at least one modern language
- Understanding of relational database design and theory
- Understanding of typical use cases and benefits for typical design approaches such as client/server, SOA, etc.
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Design concepts
