Application Developer Summer Internship
Job Description
THE ROLE: APPLICATION DEVELOPER SUMMER INTERNSHIP
This position is working in Gas South’s Information Technology Office. Under general supervision and working with the development team, understand the technology stack, review and understand the code base and QA environment, implement minor application changes and/or perform testing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in daily scrums and work on the assigned tasks.
- Participate in code review sessions with the development team.
- Implement assigned tasks namely minor application changes / writing unit tests / Manual QA / test automation as assigned by the team lead / scrum master.
- Actively engage and seek out input from other team members.
- Conduct end to end testing for both functionality and usability.
- Assist the cross functional teams by providing the appropriate level of support for production operations.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information systems.
- Internship or prior relevant work experience is preferred
- Understanding of Visual Studio Team Services and/or other development environments.
- Understanding of C# and/or VB.NET, WebAPI, RESTFul Web services, SQL Server is a huge plus.
- Understanding or exposure to the following technologies are a plus:
- Microsoft Azure
- Azure SQL Server
- Kentico CMS
- Git
- Testing Tools such as Selenium, JMeter
- Experience with working in Agile / Fast Paced Development Environment.
- Deadline oriented with proven task-completion record; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Possesses a track record of excellent performance, proactivity and exceptional work practices
