InVue's Critical Infrastructure division partners with organizations to deliver industry leading physical security technology providing them visibility and access control against insider threats.

The Application Engineer position serves as both a business and technical product owner for InVue's suite of hardware and software access control products. The sales engineer is charged with the task of enhancing existing products based on their contact with customers, prospects, as well as industry experience. His/her duties also include finding innovative solutions for the broader market and must enjoy spending time with customers to understand their physical security challenges.

This person will also lead the technical engagement with external customers demonstrating product features, defining new requirements, and advising on deployment strategies. This role requires a strong technical acumen and ability to collaborate with engineers and customers as well as the ability to translate between technical requirements and strategic business objectives. This position reports to the VP/GM Critical Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Support data center and other industry vertical by conducting site assessments and designing security systems to mitigate threats + risks and ensure installations are completed properly.
  • Work with technology team to produce world-class products driven by technology visionaries, domain experts, and customers
  • Create & document requirements, specifications, and use cases for new product features
  • Turn high-level project objectives into a comprehensive set of technical requirements
  • Own the customer knowledge and communicate it with development teams
  • Ensures sales and operations teams understand the product features and value proposition; document product operations and features in a manner that facilitates rapid implementation and product launches
  • Communicate with customer IT representatives to understand customer IT infrastructure and policies and to present solutions that fit into customer IT environment.
  • Provide guidance to customers on deployment of proposed products
  • Generate a detailed bill-of-materials for all parts based on the design.
  • Installation Support. Advise customer or partner project managers and installation supervisors on the design and ensure that the system is installed in a manner that meets design objectives.
  • Domestic and international travel 40% of the time

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of technical IT/electronic security experience
  • Security/IT experience preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks (TCP/IP)
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical field
  • Experience as a Product Development Manager or Sales Engineer
  • Knowledge in one or more manufacturing applications such as security and IoT
  • Display strong leadership, organizational and execution skills.
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Able to conduct efficient technical discussions and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to drive execution of complex and enterprise level technology solutions (e.g., move projects forward with unknowns and mitigate risks)
  • Be self-motivated and self-directed, thrive in both collaborative and independent work settings.
  • The ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams, and the ability to translate between the two
  • Be a strategic thinker, and can articulate complex business problems into easily understood solutions and functional requirements
  • Empathy, and a genuine desire to solve our customers' problems
