We are looking for a talented Application Engineer to join our team specializing in engineering for our Stamford-AvK Alternator Business in a hybrid role based in Shoreview MN and your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Provide first line, customer facing technical support in the optimal specification of CGT (Cummins Generator Technologies, a division/subsidiary of Cummins Inc.) alternators for customer applications.
• Advise and discuss with customers all aspects of generator application, control and installation.
• Provide technical support to Cummins cross-BU global functions, including Commercial, Marketing and Customer Service, as well as external Stamford-AvK customers.
• Continually strive to improve the quality and responsiveness of the support provided by the Application Engineering function by employing and actively supporting Application Engineering best practice.
• Provide Application Engineering training to internal & external customers.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• College, university, or equivalent bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• Prior entry level engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
• Engineering experience in design and manufacture of electrical machines is a benefit.
• General knowledge of generator application, mechanical aspects and test methods is a benefit
• Common touch ability to explain and relate to customers with differing technical ability.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
