Here at Envisics, we are an internationally based innovator in the automotive industry specialising in the development and supply of holographic technologies to Tier 1s and OEMs, with or our primary focus currently on augmented reality ("AR") Head-up displays ("HUDs').

Envisics' holographic platform, which leverages a combination of complex materials science and proprietary algorithms (240 patents issued or pending), enables unparalleled performance as it relates to optimising both OEM manufacturing requirements and the end user experience. Additionally, the Company is developing a LiDAR product that leverages the same core platform.

We've already assembled some of the world's top scientists & engineers from worldwide renowned companies and due to the success and growth of our product development activities, Envisics is now looking to invest in the talent of an Application Engineer for Head-Up Displays (HUD) to be an integral part of the Program Engineering Team, providing in-field technical support for current and new products for regional Tier 1 and OEM customers. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary Engineering team that works between Envisics' customers and the company's Product team. Hands-on engineering activity is needed across multiple technical disciplines to achieve successful vehicle integration and win new business.

This is an exciting, customer-orientated technical role, working within a small satellite office to support the adoption of cutting-edge automotive technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reporting into the Program Engineering team, support customers through the application and development for new AR-HUD technology.
  • Support business development activities through HUD integration and packaging studies, demonstrating the benefits of Envisics' solutions.
  • Support new and existing customers on-site with samples and prototypes including the development of Advanced Engineering projects demonstrators.
  • Attend customer meetings and engineering workshops and prepare materials and documents for customer submission with support from the other technical teams.
  • Attend supplier vehicle integration meetings led by the customer to ensure seamless mechanical integration and calibration implementation.
  • Perform quick-response trouble shooting, and in-depth RCA, executing corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate internally with product development and R&D engineers to ensure a common understanding of the system and design requirements, as well as to gain understanding of the technology capabilities.

(Some international travel will be expected in future when restrictions are lifted)

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or Physics, with broad engineering skills and technical understanding.
  • Experience in new product introduction and technical support within the automotive industry (ideally coming from working in a Tier 1 or Tier 2).
  • Previous hands-on experience working in advanced R&D and new technology development.
  • Highly customer-focused with engineering ability to support the customer's technical requirements, which can include complex optical, mechanical, electrical and software issues.
  • Confident and clear communicator.
  • Experience of experiments, test and validation procedures and evidence of troubleshooting and finding rapid solutions.
  • Proficient with mechanical CAD systems, ideally with experience working within PDM/PLM environments.
  • Knowledge of displays, opto-electronics systems or HMI instrumentation would be a distinct advantage for this role.
