Application Engineer II - Knowledge Management

As an Knowledge Management Engineer II, you will report to a Manager, Information Technology in Los Angeles, California. You will join a multi-functional team collaborating to administer, operate and support numerous Collaboration Platforms at Riot Games. 

Your role will be to help Rioters leverage the full potential of Knowledge Management by operating Riot’s Knowledge Management ecosystem on a daily basis and by evolving Riot’s Knowledge Management practices over time. You will achieve this by working with skilled and passionate teammates, as well as our trusted partners inside and outside Riot Games. You will also participate in broader Knowledge Management projects to ensure Rioters have the right tools needed to document, organize, share, and discover knowledge.

As Riot Games expands the creative expressions of its worlds, you will work with leaders in every studio at Riot Games, including unreleased projects and non-gaming ventures. You will support a complex ecosystem of geographically distributed teams and processes with one goal in mind: empower these teams to focus on doing their best work and have an amazing Knowledge Management experience.

• Operate and support a Notion deployment with thousands of users, hundreds of Teamspaces and several hundred thousand pieces of content.

• Build and evolve Notion’s Information Architecture and Security Architecture in order to be able to operate Notion at scale, maintaining the right balance between autonomy for users and the need for policies and guidelines along with limited team capacity

• Onboard new teams and departments to Notion by creating and configuring new Teamspaces, providing training materials, and support content migrations to accelerate their Knowledge Management journey

• Review Notion integration and customization Requests and provide your recommendations.

• Right size Notion licensing and optimize price per user

• Stay on top of Knowledge Management product roadmaps, in order to manage and communicate important changes to our user base

• Author and maintain operational process documentation, runbooks, technical designs and shared standards.

• Participate in on-call rotation, resolve support tickets and production incidents.

• Enable IT Service Desk agents to provide lower levels of support to the rest of the organization

• Identify and implement methods to automate recurring tasks, enforce complex business rules and reduce support overhead by unlocking self-service for users.

• Develop and nurture value-added relationships with power users across Riot’s business units

• Assign, manage and review the work that needs to be completed by other team members and 3rd party vendors.

• Work with teams across the company to inform and evolve Knowledge Management practices and promote adoption of standard methodologies.

• Identify and pursue opportunities to rationalize Riot Games’ portfolio of Knowledge Management Platforms 

• Manage our relationship with Knowledge Management vendors in order to maximize the value we get from these relationships

• 6+ years experience in knowledge management solutions or related fields

• Expert proficiency with at least one Knowledge Management platform, operating the platform at the scale of several thousand users

• Proficiency in the craft of Knowledge Management

• Experience being the key contributor in large multi-person technical efforts from creation to outcomes, including hybrid teams composed of full-time employees and 3rd party vendors

• Experience mentoring individuals in their craft or discipline, and growing them into seniority
