ANSYS, Inc. seeks Application Engineer II SCBU to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Application Engineer II contributes to the support of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Application Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish customer support objectives.Able toanswer questions on tools functionality. Triage complaints about product defects and root cause for R&D. Write clear descriptions of product enhancement requests. Work behind the scenes, be task-orientated and take direction from a mentor to assist with evaluations, benchmarks, or demos. Develop the trust and respect of team members. A detailed breakdown of the specific software development duties of this position include: Responsible for providing world-class assistance to customers and channel partners in the usage of ANSYS products, and leveraging knowledge, to assist in growing ANSYS's software business in line with the corporate vision and performance expectations. Applying knowledge and experience in the areas of RTL design, custom circuit analysis, high-speed VLSI design, standard cell physical layout, power-grid extraction, timing analysis, noise analysis, and voltage drop effects with various CAD tools to solve problems in complex System-on-Chip (SoC). Develop competence in one or more ANSYS products working independently. Work on customer support tasks and be able to answer questions on tools functionality and train customers promptly and effectively in order to improve customers' productivity and satisfaction with Semiconductor Business Unit simulation products. Consistently improve understanding of customers' workflow and technical needs and communicate new opportunities and risks to the Sales team. Proactively work to grow the software usage by demonstrating new solutions. Independently provide and coordinate support for multiple designs for assigned customers through tape-out and verify the designs are clean within customer expectations. Assist with automating customer workflows using Python scripting language. Triage complaints about product defects and root cause for R&D. Write clear descriptions of product enhancement requests and collaborate with the Product Development team to improve software products and the customers' experience using these products. Work behind the scenes, be task-orientated and take direction from a mentor to assist with evaluations, benchmarks, or demos. Develop the trust and respect of team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
    • Semiconductor and systems design specializing in digital, analog, Mixed-Signal and RF;
    • Large-scale commercial software support;
    • Simulation methodologies, running simulation benchmarks, and modeling and simulation of engineered products & processes;
    • Triage workflow issues
    • Telecommute work from home position in an office at least 2 days a week
