Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Application Engineer – Power Platform Developer located in Makati City, Philippines.
This position will be reporting to the Software Engineering Chapter. The selected candidate will be first assigned to the Power Platform Accelerator team in the IT Foundation Platform - Application & Platform Engineering Services product line. The team helps make sure Power Apps developers can move their products from an idea to the first deployment quickly, but in a sustainable way by helping kick off projects, assisting with initial design, and consulting on ways to improve existing solutions. The team also creates reusable components to complement the Power Platform capabilities so that app makers can easily implement common patterns in their solutions with minimal effort. This team also creates apps and dashboards showing usage metrics to provide insight into how the power platform is being utilized within Chevron.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Supports the software development lifecycle for software solutions
Deploys, configures, and supports business applications
Configures, customizes, and integrates vendor-sourced enterprise software with other internal systems
Updates existing code to debug or incorporate minor enhancements
Develops deep domain knowledge by understanding business processes.
Elicits business requirements and translates business needs into fit-for-purpose actionable plans.
Actively participates in an integrated DevOps Team utilizing Agile methodologies with strong change management focus.
Provides daily operational support for several applications by troubleshooting incidents to identify root causes and solutions, identifying and resolving problems, designing and implementing configuration changes and monitoring performance.
Proactive communication and quick response to production issues and project work. Strong customer focus.
Monitors interfaces/data loads, administer security, and provide feedback/solutions on application performance.
Identifies areas for improvement and partners with Software Engineers/team members to address tactical and strategic issues.
Develops and maintains support documentation.
Maintains IP Compliance on systems and software as appropriate.
Selection Criteria:
Technical Skills
Skilled in scripting to automate workflow, and in low code development platforms
Working knowledge of software engineering principles
Proficiency and applied knowledge in the Microsoft Power Platform including understanding of capabilities, boundaries, and constraints. Candidates should have a basic understanding of DevOps practices for Power Platform. Passionate about Power Platform and its potential to move organizations forward.
Has a keen eye for good architecture and the ability to develop a technical design in a disciplined, methodical, and minimalistic approach.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in two or more of the following is a plus: C#, C++, Angular, Node.js, SQL, Ansible, R, Java, Python, Azure, APIs, Web services(WCF and/or RESTful services), Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX), SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Oracle / SQL Server, among others.
Experience/knowledge in Agile SAFe, Kanban and Scrum methodologies.
