Application Engineer - Senior
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership and support in the sales and support of Advantest V93000 Semiconductor Test Systems and Applications for a specific customer or wherever business needs dictate.
- Provide RF technology technical solutions in fields like Bluetooth 802.11a/b/g/n, 5G, 802.15.4, UWB, mmWave, WiGig, or Radar
- Develop test programs and debug of Rx and Tx Test Methodologies, Test Library with DEVM, Carrier Frequency Stability, EDR Frequency Error and Modulation Characteristics.
- Ability to assist in the design hardware for RF devices; having knowledge of RF Matching and De-embedding is a plus
- Ensures the product functions per specifications.
- Integrates Advantest products and services (at the system/solutions level) into customer's environment
- Perform analysis of complex IC manufacturer customer requirements providing expertise on topics such as: Performance, Design, Utilization, Optimization, test program development/conversions and Implementation Strategies
- Accountable for the design, scoping, and technical validity of the solution to achieve the customer's business objectives
- Keeps other technical consultants (country wide) informed of new and emerging technologies and information in their business segment.
- Create project plans for complex projects and track project completion
- Represents customer's needs of their assigned business segment to field or factory
- Focus for technical topics is on mixed signal and RF technologies
- Works on system/application engineering assignments with clearly defined objectives
Travel:
Up to 25% travel to various customer and Advantest sites
Requirements
Requirements:
- BS in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline with applicable experience in RF test
- V93000 ATE test engineering experience
- Knowledge and experience on test program development for the V93000 using SmarTest 7 or SmarTest 8 and Test Method coding
- Knowledge and experience with wireless connectivity products (802.11a/b/g/n/ax)
- Solid understand of Rx and Tx Test Methodologies, Test Library with EVM, IP3, P1dB, Gain, S-Parameters and Modulation Characteristics.
- Experience with RF and mmWave test equipment and measurements with a Vector network analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, signal generators, and Oscilloscope.
- >2 year's practical experience in application development or test engineering on ATE for RF devices
- Demonstrated experience with LINUX, JAVA, Python
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry and market trends
- Ability to work in a fast paced, project oriented, team environment
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):
- MS in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline with applicable experience in RF test
- Knowledge and experience of test program development for V93000 in Smartest 8
- Knowledge and experience with 5G, mmWave/WiGig wireless connectivity products
- Knowledge of OTA measurement technologies, antenna characterizations
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills
