Application Engineer Sr. Specialist

Individual contributor responsible providing a high level of expertise in systems analysis and design, application development and/or integration, and testing of complex systems applications to support business needs. Provides guidance to others informally and formally leads teams on a project and/or program. The focus of this position will be leading, architecting, designing, developing or integrating business applications.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

• Evaluate complex client area requirements and processes and design application system specifications.
• Provide application design recommendations leveraging expertise in federated content search, claim data translation, and claim financial processing.
• Develop, test and implement efficient and cost effective application solutions including issue resolution and on-going system maintenance.
• Developing and implementing software applications using Microservices, Dialogflow with Chatbot AI, React with Node JS, and cloud platform technologies such as Google Cloud.
• Automate deployments with continuous integration using Concourse CI with Gradle UI frontend development using ReactJS and NodeJS.
• Lead the integration of vendor applications and consulting resources with existing applications and resources.
• Serve as a technical consultant to programming staff and business unit to mentor staff in all phases of the program development, testing and implementation process.
• Review design and applications work of others and provide feedback regarding best-practices.
• Develop recommendations for architecture direction and applications portfolio.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or related and 5 (five) years of experience in software engineering
Must have experience with each of the following:

• Provide application design recommendations leveraging expertise in federated content search, claim data translation, and claim financial processing;
• Developing and implementing software applications using Microservices, Dialogflow with Chatbot AI, React with Node JS, and cloud platform technologies such as Google Cloud within the insurance domain; and
• Automating deployments with continuous integration using Concourse CI with Gradle UI frontend development using ReactJS and NodeJS.

Mon-Fri., 8:30am - 4:45pm, 37.5 hours/week; $135,000 - $145,000 per year, overtime exempt. This position qualifies for CNA's employee referral policy program.
