APPLICATION ENGINEER - TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

We are looking for a talented ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to join our APPLICATION ENGINEER - TECHNICAL SPECIALIST team supporting Cummins STATIONARY FULE CELL BUSINESS in FRIDLEY, MN office

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Provide first line application engineering support for our PEM and Solid Oxide fuel cells to external customers and OEMs.
• Advise and discuss with customers and OEMs all aspects of fuel cells application, control and installation.
• Ensure products are applied and installed correctly to meet customer system requirements and environments.
• Serve as customer/market advocate inside Cummins during participation in new product development programs, design reviews and product change request processes.
• Utilizes Analysis Led Design (ALD) to optimize product and system performance.
• Provide Application Engineering training to internal & external customers and OEMs.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, preferably with focus in Power Systems.
• Experience creating and interpreting electrical and process drawings including: 1-line and 3-line wiring diagrams, schematics, P&ID, etc. using Autocad, Creo or similar software.
• Experience with power generation projects, from design through commissioning.
• Experience integrating inverter-based resources in microgrids and island applications.
• Deep understanding of utility interconnection requirements and relevant standards such as IEEE-1547, California Rule 21, UL 1741, etc. Knowledge of permitting process is a plus.
• Knowledge of modelling and simulation tools such as Matlab, SKM, etc.
• Familiar with product compliance and certification requirements and working knowledge of codes and standards applicable to stationary power generation markets.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, translating to relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership and influencing skills.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
