Application Operations Engineer
Job Description
As an Application Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational excellence of Origami Risk cloud application. You will work closely with our DevOps and Support teams to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our platform. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing new monitoring tools and metrics to help improve our environment performance and scalability.
Starting base pay for this role is between $80,000 and $100,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).
Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, and manages infrastructure for our SaaS applications.
- Develops and implements automated monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Performs root cause analysis and troubleshooting of application and infrastructure issues.
- Collaborates with Development teams to ensure smooth deployments and rollouts.
- Stays up to date on the latest trends and technologies in Application Operations and cloud computing.
- Proactively identifies and implements opportunities to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Documents and shares knowledge with the team.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience in an Application Operations or related role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or related field
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and/or managing cloud-based infrastructure, AWS preferred.
- Experience with .Net, IIS, Logi, SQL Server, Powershell preferred.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef preferred.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sumo Logic, Datadog, or New Relic required.
- Strong understanding of networking and security principles.
- Major cloud provider certification (ex. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) at the Associate level preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
