This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Tool Engineer in United States.
This role focuses on ensuring end-to-end visibility and performance stability across complex enterprise applications and infrastructure environments. You will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining APM solutions that monitor critical applications built across multiple technologies. The position plays a key role in identifying performance bottlenecks, improving system reliability, and enabling proactive incident detection. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams to optimize observability platforms and expand monitoring capabilities. The environment is highly technical and multi-platform, covering Java, .NET, middleware, and cloud-native systems. This is a full-time opportunity suited for engineers passionate about performance engineering and observability at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Configure and maintain APM monitoring solutions across Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, and web/middleware environments such as Apache, Tomcat, and JBoss.
- Support and administer APM platforms (e.g., AppDynamics or similar), including upgrades, patching, and vendor coordination.
- Implement and enhance observability features such as end-user monitoring, transaction tracing, and message queue (MQ) monitoring.
- Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and support resolution of performance-related incidents.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, system administrators, and development teams to ensure effective instrumentation and monitoring coverage.
- Perform platform maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of APM tools and associated infrastructure.
- Support automation initiatives for monitoring deployment and configuration management.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Experience with middleware technologies such as WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, or Tomcat.
- Practical knowledge of APM tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, Instana, or Introscope.
- Experience configuring monitoring for modern application stacks including Python, Node.js, and web servers like Apache.
- Ability to write automation scripts using Shell scripting, Ansible, or BladeLogic.
- Familiarity with container and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Working knowledge of platform operations, upgrades, and production support processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-availability environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
- Competitive annual compensation of approximately $125K.
