Application Quality Analyst/Engineer-Expert

Position is not remote - will be hybrid out of our Springfield, IL, Dallas, TX or Madison, WI office

The Application Quality Analyst/Engineer-Expert will develop, enhance, and maintain tools/applications for a test automation framework supporting automated testing using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom built systems.

• Carry out procedures to ensure that all information technology solutions and services meet company quality standards and user requirements.
• Establish requirements, evaluate, and recommend test automation tools.
• Estimate and plan for development of test automation framework.
• Define processes and standards for implementing test automation.
• Create automated tests for functional/GUI validation of company products and related components.
• Provide detailed documentation and training on automation tools/applications developed.
• Perform system, integration, functional, data validation, and performance testing as well as facilitate user acceptance testing.
• Utilize test management tools to document test plans and to report test results and defects.
• Ability to grasp business and technical processes analytically/strategically.
• Work cross-functionally to assist with problem solving and project plan activities.
• Respond to inquiries, requests in a timely fashion.
• Team focused.
• Effective written and verbal communications in a professional manner to management, business partners, associates, and external resources.
• Senior-level role; operates autonomously, broad impact across multiple systems.  Seen as an expert in test design and leads testing effort for strategic projects.
• Leads investigation and evaluation of new testing technologies and products for application within Horace Mann environment.
• Leads efforts to improve solution reliability, performance, and quality assurance best practices and processes.
• Functions as process change leader.
• Educates and mentors several roles across the organization.

Job Requirements:

• 10+ years software test automation experience
• Provides consultation as technical and system expert on key business systems.
• Expert knowledge of quality assurance processes and testing methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of software development life cycle and project life cycle principles, including both Agile and Waterfall.
• Subject matter expert of all test frameworks, tools, and automation of complex platforms.
• Insurance domain knowledge strongly preferred
