Job Description

Applications are what make a dynamic technology company run and the security of how those applications are written and deployed is a critical component of company security. As the Lead Application Security Analyst you have the chance to have a large impact on Motorola Solutions and its future. In this role, you get the chance to enhance our Enterprise Application Security process, mold security processes within our CI/CD pipeline, and improve our Application Security Maturity level. You will run application penetration tests, guide our developers and collaborate with your peers in order to improve the security of our business applications. You will be driving changes in the organization culture to include application security as an integrated mature and exciting process through automation, advanced tools and creativity. Additionally, you have the opportunity to learn from and be part of an experienced and innovative team of cyber security professionals.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

• You will be leading the application security function, helping to secure business applications related to Motorola Solutions 

• You will support, maintain, and improve our comprehensive Security SDLC and CI/CD program to insure secure application delivery

• You will work with business leads and developers to consult, educate, test and verify secure design and secure application implementation 

• You will be using state of the art technologies to conduct application penetration tests, as well as manage the web application firewall 

• You will have the opportunity to define, develop and communicate Application Security training and awareness material

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Experience in leading application security peers as a technical contributor

• Knowledge and experience in software development 

• knowledge of common application vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10), attack techniques and remediation tactics/strategies.

• Experience in providing technical security guidance to developers that is digestible and effective

• Should be a self-starter who demonstrates complete ownership over assigned objectives and is able to work independently with guidance from remote-site contact

• Strong team player with the ability to work with a geographically dispersed team 

• Must have proven experience in web application penetration testing

• Excellent English language skills; oral and written

Note: Candidate must reside in the Chicagoland Area, in office 1-2 days a week.

Basic Requirements

•  Bachelors Degree with 1+ years of cyber security experience

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
