This role has been designated as Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our St. Paul, MN location.

As an Application Software Engineer, you will be focused on embedded software for HVAC unit controls and building automation system controls. The role will be responsible for developing structured, verified software on schedule to meet customer-defined requirements. You will partner with other software, hardware, control algorithm, and project engineers on a design team.

What you will do:

  • Design and code software solutions across hardware and software platforms to meet key quality and functional requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and mentoring of peers in design best practices. Prepare schedules for all project assignments and activities.
  • Understand construction fundamentals; minimize complexity, anticipate change, plan for verification.
  • Create and execute test plans and test software at appropriate times in the development cycle.
  • And other duties as assigned.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, engineering technology or equivalent from a four year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of proficient in C/C++ software application development
  • Linux experience
  • Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming
  • Experience with the entire software life cycle and associated tools.

Ideally, you are also familiar with one or more of the following

  • Cybersecurity knowledge with Threat Modeling and Secure Development Lifecyle experience
  • Mechanical Engineering education and/or experience
  • 3+ years' experience in corporate, cross function collaboration environment
  • Ability to join a tenured team in a fast pace environment with experience level to contribute quickly.

Base Compensation Range is $63,000 to $133,000

Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
