Application Software Engineer-Embedded

Job Summary: Software engineering position focusing on embedded software and cybersecurity for HVAC unit controls and building automation system controls. Will be responsible for developing structured, verified software on schedule to meet customer-defined requirements. Works closely with other software, hardware, security, and project engineers on a design team.

This role has been designated as Hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Design and code software/firmware solutions across hardware and software platforms to meet key quality and functional requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and mentoring of peers in design best practices. Prepare schedules for all project assignments and activities
• Understand construction fundamentals; minimize complexity, anticipate change, plan for verification.
• Create and execute test plans and test software at appropriate times in the development cycle.
• And other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, engineering technology or equivalent from a four year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient in C/C++ software application development
• Linux experience
• Experience with secure firmware development is a plus
• Object-Oriented analysis, design, and programming
• Experience with the entire software life cycle and associated tools.

Key Competencies:

• C/C++ programming experience Linux experience required

• Experience developing integrated hardware/software applications
• Experience with HVAC equipment and building control products a plus.
