This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Application Support Engineer in India.
This role sits at the heart of application reliability and operational excellence, ensuring that critical Python-based systems run smoothly in production environments. You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues while working closely with engineering and product teams. The position plays a key role in maintaining system stability, improving performance, and supporting continuous delivery across modern cloud-based applications. You will interact with diverse stakeholders to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and enhance platform resilience. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring strong analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving. Accountabilities:
- Support, monitor, and maintain Python-based applications and services to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while optimizing application performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and data teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code for application enhancements and fixes.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services into existing systems as needed.
- Write and execute unit tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (15 years of full-time education).
- Strong proficiency in Python with experience in frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, system integration, and application architecture principles.
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows in collaborative environments.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively in agile, cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Preferred: experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, asynchronous programming (e.g., Celery), and exposure to front-end technologies or AI/ML concepts.
