Role Snapshot

This position can be filled at the Associate level or Professional level of Systems Administrator.

As our Application Systems Administrator, you will participate in a team of administrators executing as application owners to support COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) solutions end to end. This will involve assisting or leading installations/upgrades, researching security resolutions, and resolving customer incident reports investigating proactive resolutions. You will need to demonstrate effective communication skills to interpret needs of clients, collaborate with peers to deliver quality solutions, and coordinate with other Information Systems teams.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills (both verbal and written) with coworkers, clients, and project team leaders
  • Have prior experience participating in system administration support role involving a 24x7 rotational on-call support team
  • Are knowledgeable about change management practices and being cognizant of ever evolving technological best practices that could be applied to existing solutions
  • Can coordinate support and change activities with other teams, e.g. database management, infrastructure configuration, quality assurance testing
  • Identify and handle multiple competing initiatives escalating issues when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience
  • Prior experience participating in a software system administration support role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Level: 1 or more years of experience in Information Systems performing development work
  • Professional Level: 3 or more years of experience in Information Systems performing development work
  • Experience with Tibco EDI product stack, Ricoh Process Director, OpenText Intelligent Capture, OpenText RightFax, and/or Cincom Eloquence or similar systems would be helpful
  • Grasp of the underlying server operating systems (e.g., Linux/Unix/Windows) and infrastructure standards to be able to troubleshoot situations; Including: Windows Server 2016 and 2019, RedHat Linux 7.x and 8.x, IBM AIX
  • Ability to extract and interrogate data from databases to aid in troubleshooting situations; includes SQL Server 2016 and 2019, Oracle, and DB2
  • Knowledge and skill to work through and with teams to configure applications servers needed for the COTS applications; includes IIS, JBoss and Tomcat
  • Ability to develop and document departmental policies, procedures, application installations instructions, and application support documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interface with business end user clients, project or SCRUM team leaders, and other IT departments in implementing new COTS solutions
  • Knowledge and skill to restore critical applications as part of the yearly D/R rehearsal.

Salary Range

Associate Level: $50,000 ~ $65,000

Professional Level: $65,000 ~ $85,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside the posted range.

Remote Worker Requirements

For remote position, employee is required to meet remote worker requirements, including a designated work station, a wired (Ethernet) connection to the network, and a minimum of 10Mbps downstream connection with at least 1Mbps upstream (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
