Position Summary:

Under general direction manages the life cycle of assigned client/server software applications. Develops standard policies and procedures to provide the highest level of capabilities to customers. Provides project management and business analysis support to business units as needed. Serves as subject matter expert in several bank applications and assists in the development of less experienced employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages all aspects of the client/server application life cycle. Such functions include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting, managing application level security, installation of new releases, testing, and overseeing end-user training.
  • Communicates with credibility and confidence when interacting with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders. Presents application status and proposed solutions in a logical manner with a focus on benefits and based on relevant data. Adjusts communications to fit the audience and message. Shares information freely and openly, within department and with other stakeholder groups.
  • Oversees application status and drives configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and general support. Ensures the alignment of all activities to existing ITS and university policies, processes, and procedures. Creates and maintains thorough documentation to track configuration settings. Assists with user and group access to applications.
  • Responsible for maintaining a 'tier-2 and tier-3' level of support within the organization. Escalates issues and questions to vendors as needed.
  • Responsible for upgrading and patching software per proper change management processes and implementing new application features and functionality.
  • Manages assigned vendor relationships.
  • Oversees the development of reports and application integrations.
  • Maintains policies and procedures to ensure the department provides excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Keeps abreast of financial services technology trends to make recommendations for improving the profitability and efficiency of the bank.
  • Serves as project manager as required.
  • Develops training guides, documentation, and manuals.
  • Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policy and procedures,
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

  • Knowledge of Core System application (Fiserv preferred), set up, and reporting or similar bank applications.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations as they relate to bank applications.
  • Skill in adopting technological advancements and facilitating into current and future responsibilities.
  • Skill in analyzing situations and applying critical thinking in order to resolve problems and decide on courses of action.
  • Experience managing and contributing to the development of best practice policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.
  • Ability to anticipate, monitor, and meet the needs of internal customers and respond in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities involving many projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to be aware of internal customers' constantly evolving expectations and inclination toward an empowered experience.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.
  • Ability to coach and lead others.
  • Ability to see causal relationships, inferences; systematically breaks apart complex problems.
  • Ability to direct one's motivation and works towards the timely and quality completion of goals.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or equivalent training, education and experience.
  • Minimum four years' experience in information technology with focus on Applications
  • Experience managing and contributing to the development of best practice policies and procedures.
  • Experience in working with Fiserv Signature Core preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years' Financial Institution experience preferred.
