Ardent is seeking an Applications Developer – Back End  to join our team.  

This is a Remote/Hybrid position located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking an Applications Developer – Back End. We are seeking a talented and motivated Application Developer with a focus on back-end development to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust back-end systems for our web applications. Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust back-end systems for web applications.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, UX designers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Implement and optimize database structures for optimal performance and data integrity.
• Work closely with system architects to ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end components.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions to technical challenges.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance the development process.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
• Ensure security and compliance standards are met in the development process.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.

Requirements: 

• 8 years of relevant experience as an applications developer
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study
• Experience implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller)
• 3-5 years of experience designing and developing solutions with Springboot and Java in an Agile Software Development environment
  • Preferably with MVC experience
  • Preferable with Liquibase experience
• 3-5 years of experience using git to for version control WITH a team not just alone.
• 3-5 years of experience designing and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with Representation State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON)
• 3-5 years of technical proficiency with developing database queries, batch jobs, and stored procedures with PL/SQL and NoSQL
• 1-3 years of experience developing solutions using AWS Simple Messaging Service/Simple Queue Service (SMS/SQS)
• Experience developing applications with responsive web design frameworks to support multiple platforms including compatibility with Chrome and Edge
• Experience with all aspects of configuration management planning including configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, configuration documentation

AWS Developer Associate Certification is a plus
