The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.
Applications Developer II - C#
The developer position will support Ball Aerospace Information Technology development including in-house development, SaaS solutions, On-Prem, and COTS products as well as webservices and portals.
What You'll Do:

• Create and maintain business web services that adapt and extend functionality of COTS solution.
• Design, test, code, configure, debug, and document software change requests (enhancements, bugfixes, emergency changes, etc.) for custom and COTS applications.
• Create developer documentation when appropriate to help onboard new developers.
• Collaborate with Business Analyst and business users to clarify requirements and confirm design/implementation.
• Work with other developers and solutions architects to align to a consistent technology vision and drive application development standards.
• Research and recommend database development best practices.
• Participate in peer-programming and design sessions/reviews with team members.
• Collaborate with other Application Developers on problem analysis and resolution and provide support as needed.
• Ensure development quality is being tracked and improved using techniques like automated testing and peer code review.
• Work closely with Business Analyst and Quality Analyst to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.
• Collaborate with Ball Aerospace business units as needed to understand impact of changes and suggest appropriate technical solutions
• Solve and implement difficult technology challenges and drive our team to successful delivery.
• Occasionally work after hours work for software releases.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 5 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

• Understanding of application servers including experience with configuration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, professional, and communicate with all levels of management.
• Ability to work under general direct supervision.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps
• Experience with any of the following technologies is preferred:
  • Developing in C#
  • Experience using Git or related SCM system
  • Experience with T-SQL and PL-SQL
  • Experience with test frameworks, Unit Testing/Test Driven Development/Behavior Driven Design
  • .Net experience, object oriented and procedural programming skills and knowledge of solid design principles.
  • Azure DevOps/Team Foundation Server

Hybrid Work Environment: This position may be performed working from both the office and another location, while typically requiring working in the office less than 3 days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,000 - $120,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
