Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry leading metrology solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The FaST Division portfolio of metrology products includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical metrology capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Israel, China, and India.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will provide application engineering support to KLA's state-of the art inspection and or metrology products. The responsibilities include -

• Product Development: Characterization, product adoption and penetration of next gen semiconductor equipment products. This includes designing test plans, collecting data, performing analysis, publishing results and best-known methods (BKMs).
• Use-case Demos: Identifying and implementing new applications and use-cases to maintain competitive advantage. In addition, he/she will Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool performance and support long term adoption to help drive tool sales.
• Customer support: Product value demonstration during beta testing, Head-to-Heads (H2H) and tools in the ramp phase at customer facilities. This includes investigating manufacturing yield issues to provide best in class solutions, creating & sharing product value statements with engineering, marketing and sales groups, training customers and other applications engineers.

Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Material Science, or related fields.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills combined with a methodical approach.
• Well organized, self-driven, strong follow-up abilities with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic technical environment.
• Candidate must be self-driven, and a strong team player.
• Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using combination of Excel, Matlab, or other data-analysis tools.
• Training and/or background in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment is a plus
• Matlab or knowledge of any other scripting skills is a plus.
• This position may require up to 40-50% domestic and possibly international travel.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD level degree with no work experience OR Master's level degree with 2 years of work experience
