Job Description
The APRN is responsible for providing medical care to clinic patients under the supervision of a physician. This role will review labs and diagnostic results to determine urgency of results and treatment before educating patients and/or their families. This position will also discuss preventative care and treatments with patients.
Essential Functions
- The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
- Provide direct patient care.
o Complete histories and physicals; order and perform diagnostic tests; analyze and interpret the patient's histories, physical findings, symptoms, or diagnostic information.
o Diagnose and provide acute and chronic care according to protocol for injuries, infections, and/or illnesses.
o Develop treatment plans based on lab review and analysis of results following established standards, procedures, and practices.
o Prescribe medication dosages and frequencies and provide counsel to patient for possible side effects and/or interactions with other substances; detect and respond to any adverse drug reactions. - Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, physicians, and clinic administration.
o Educate patients and/or families about self-management of chronic or acute illnesses.
o Discuss treatment plans with physicians. - Complete administrative duties related to patient care.
o Document, monitor, and confirm accuracy of information recorded on patient's medical records.
o Ensure documentation of patient treatment and diagnostic information is submitted for HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) review.

APRN,BC - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Board Certified
General Physical Demands
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
