POLITICO is seeking a Senior AR Operations & Billing Specialist to join our team. The Senior AR Operations & Billing Specialist will be responsible for financial reporting processes, transactional accuracy and efficiency of the billing cycle. The role plays an important part in Accounts Receivable operations with a focus on deposit reconciliation, suspense account management, refunds, invoicing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of the Accounts Receivable Finance team and will ensure the timely execution of day-to-day activities.

What You'll Do:

• Proactively investigate and resolve unidentified cash payments in the deposit log
• Contact clients for potential duplicate payments, minimizing Suspense account entries
• Ensure accurate payment application in Salesforce (SF)
• Work on reducing items in the Suspense file through research in financial systems and outreach with stakeholders
• Assign and manage the Suspense file for specific business lines (Subscriptions, Advertisement)
• Process refunds for confirmed duplicate payments after thorough internal verification. Collect essential client information for refund processing
• Manage Politico Advertising billing inbox to address customer inquiries
• provide support with Subscription inquiries, coordinating with the AR team
• Oversee daily Advertising invoicing, ensuring timely submission and detail inclusion
• Cross-verify invoicing with recorded revenue to prevent discrepancies
• Manage all aspects of invoicing, collections, and internal/external requests
• Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical issues and financial record discrepancies with the Advertisement sales and operations team at Politico
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager of AR Operations and the Salesforce Development team to enhance operational functionality
• Log tickets on JIRA for process improvements, discuss feasibility in bi-weekly scrum meetings with CRM technical Stakeholders
• Conduct quarterly audits to ensure accurate tracking of business and financial data to reconcile total contract dollar value of service delivered with invoices billed and revenue recognized

What You'll Need:

• A./B.S. in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or similar fields or 2+ year of relevant work/internship experience
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Able to think clearly and reach well founded conclusions and articulate ideas concisely
• Ability to build strong internal/external business partnerships
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to work under tight timelines and prioritize work as needed
• Preferred experience with CRM system(s) specifically Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Financial Force, and database applications
