DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Develop system engineering, software engineering, system integration, or distributed system architectures. Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components. Identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders - product, business, engineering, compliance, agile execution teams and cross product architects to provide architecture solutions. Partner with business leaders and define target state architectures based on the product vision and strategy. Disciplined approach of defining architectures the right way, yet breaking down the target architecture into transition architectures based on the constraints. Work with teams of architects to align cross-functional projects and ensure that they stay within fiscal and technical boundaries. Create architectures based on the Industry standards and the New Banking Architecture. Create architectural deliverables in accordance with CCB guidelines and standards. Create Reference Architectures. Partner with engineering team to create proof of concepts (PoCs) for emerging technology solutions. Help product in shaping the roadmap by assessing and providing high level estimates of new initiatives and business opportunities. Collaborate with Agile delivery team to establish and review JIRA epics and stories. Participate in budgeting, hiring, mentoring, and priority-setting. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels. Apply enterprise architecture best practices, guidelines, standards and objectives. Provide guidance, direction and mentorship to engineering regarding architecture & design. Evaluate solutions and empower teams to scale the solutions. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Architect, Application Programmer, Technical Architect, Software Developer, Software Engineer, IT Associate/Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Agile development methodologies such as Sprint or Kanban; Microservices; REST APIs; programming languages such as Java, Python, C, or Cobol; RDBMS such as Oracle, MySQL, Aurora, or iBatis; MongoDB or Cassandra; Kafka, IBM MW or Apache MQ; architectural methodologies such as Domain Driven Design, Business Process Modelling (BPM) or UML; MS Visio; Enterprise Architecture such as TOGAF or Zachman; AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Azure; Non Functional Requirements (NFRs) such as Scalability, Resiliency, Fault Tolerance, High Availability, Load Balancing or Eventual Consistency; and Architectural artifact development.
