As an Architect II, you will:• Be responsible for the management of multiple mid to high complexity projects across the enterprise (renovation and new construction) and recapitalization of existing facilities. • Assist in the preparation of strategic planning. • Assume full responsibility for the management of multiple small, mid-sized and large-scale projects. • Prepare strategic plans for project success. • Be responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. • Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion. • Actively manage program and design intent of the project working with the project team. • Assist in the development of budgets, schedules and determining scope of work. • Independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs. • Be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs. • Demonstrate ability to execute complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and collaborate the overall project design team; leads the design vision and design documents for review and presentation to internal and external teams including government agencies, user groups, design review boards, and CC Leadership.
- Assists in the preparation of building programs for design purposes, including conceptual and schematic design plans, detailed design or design intent, massing, and renderings for projects, prepares the renderings and drawings for further development and presentations; reviews work of consulting designers, architects and engineers and provides guidance on developing design concepts.
- Assists in assessing facility and space requests by working with support departments to determine space, functional needs, equipment, and utility requirements in preparing design solutions for development. Areas of focus, include space planning and design development for clinical, administrative, research and support areas.
- Ability to create and document ideas in 2 and 3 dimensions to portray initial concepts. Prepares and presents information including projects, design guidelines, trends, and special studies internally and externally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, or Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design preferred and may offset 2 years of professional experience.
Certifications:
- Registered (licensed) Architect required. An Architect may have a valid license in one or more states, prefer license issued in either State of Ohio or Florida.
- Experience in other professions (finance, technology, graphic design) preferred.
- EDAC, LEED or NCIDQ Certified preferred.
Complexity of Work:
- Production of CD's, CA, and ability to exhibit knowledge of building design, systems, and construction.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, self-motivated and ability to adapt quickly to project needs.
- Knowledge of design principles, application of color, materials, and aesthetic form to develop conceptual design solutions based off programming and planning concepts.
- Knowledge of space planning.
- Ability to conceptualize space, understand operations and workflow.
- Advanced interior architecture detailing skills.
- Design and production experience with a variety of building types across a range of geographic locations.
- Understand multi-dimensional problems, form, and volumetric data.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
- Experience within healthcare environment required.
- Experience in other professions (finance, technology, graphic design) preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and FGI Guidelines.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit skills, Enscape, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Products (PPT, Excel, Word).
Physical Requirements:
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal and corrected vision, extensive sitting, and mobility.
- Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time to perform site inspections of construction and renovation projects.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally. The position requires a passport and/or the ability to get a passport within a reasonable time frame.
- Must have reliable transportation. The position requires a valid driver's license and automobile insurance and the ability to drive to Cleveland Clinic facilities.
- The position requires the ability to perform occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.
