Job Description
As a member of the Rockwell Automation IT organization, you will join our transformation journey as we seek to improve and push boundaries. In your role as an Archiving engineer you will help reduce the enterprise SAP data footprint while meeting regulatory and legal requirements. This role is a critical path for both transformation and innovation at Rockwell Automation by improving system scalability. The chosen candidate will enjoy working with a diverse set of partners such as Audit, Legal and Compliance, and various technology capability teams.
Essential Functions:
- Operate in a highly cross-functional environment
- Bring the initiative to break down silos and remove impediments
- Identify, Design and Deploy SAP data archiving strategies
- Develop/publish key metrics to track the data footprint and progress of active initiatives
- Serve as the go-to person for triaging archiving issues and remove roadblocks
- Educate, influence, and elevate the archiving capability and strategy to engineers, analysts, and leadership
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required - we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Typically requires 5+ years of experience in related areas
- Strong technical understanding of system functionality, workflow, processes, workflow and tools and best practices to help ensure day-to-day functionality and drive growth to the archiving solution
- Experience creating and maintaining knowledge artifacts
- Ability to effectively organize, facilitate, and communicate thoughts and ideas via written and verbal methods
- Technical background and experience working in a large enterprise system environment
- Experience with creating and implementing an SAP enterprise archiving strategy
- SAP, ECC 6.0+
- SQL and Relational Database Concepts, Oracle or similar platform experience
- Experience within a Linux-Based environment, Redhat or similar
- Experience with OpenText archiving solutions
- Automation first mindset and an attention to quality and testing best practices.
- Passion around testing/monitoring with a focus on building automated reporting.
- Background in negotiating solutions with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in software development or systems administration
- Experience with Agile development and SCRUM methodologies
