Art Director - Hybrid

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Art Director to join the Creative Team! Individual reports to Associate Creative Director, Design. Role is hybrid. 

This role is a hybrid opportunity that requires a local commutable distance to the HQ Costa Mesa, CA office as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Art Director creates and oversees the visual components of the company’s brands. They are a creator by passion, a doer that loves to get their hands dirty and will concept and design projects from high level to BAU, while also managing, leading and mentoring your team. They have an impeccable eye for detail, being able to communicate and give direction and feedback that helps the designers find solutions to execute their creative to match the strategy and brand. 

Your usual day of awesomeness includes: 

• Enhance the team knowledge of best design practices and trends in digital and brand design. 
• Present design solutions to managers and get sign-offs. 
• Manage a team of designers, be their advocate and support while still being business focused. 
• Be a problem solver first. 
• Translate, develop and strengthen marketing need into a unique, creative brand design.
• Design fresh creative true to the brand identity of product and style guidelines set, be the creative the team is inspired by, lead by example. 
• Ensure work is in line with goals of the project. 
• Articulate fresh modern ideas and find ways to implement/elevate the creative.
• Quality control and review designers work. Make sure to dot the I’s and cross the T’s.
• Makes sure no deadlines are missed from self to team. 
• Knowledge of agency functions or applicability to experience, previous design.

WHAT YOU BRING

• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating visual branding, online marketing, and great user-centered design solutions. 
• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Proficiency in Figma and UX/UI preferred. 
• 2-5 years Managerial experience necessary. 
• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience. 
• Experience defining or maintaining a design style guide or branding guidelines.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to defend your design decisions to executive management.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 - $110,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
