Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF) is hiring a First Shift Assembler to join our team. This role will be a 3-6+ month temporary position with the possibility to go permanent. The assembler will be expected to function as a member of the production team whose goal is to assemble required components, operate manufacturing equipment, and maintain the quality and integrity of the products and facility at all times. In this role, your primary focus is to build components by assembling parts and subassemblies while following processes to meet production goals. Strong communication skills are necessary for success as an Assembler at PFF.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying work instructions, specifications, and parts lists; gathering components, subassemblies, tools, and materials.Β Β 
  • Use hand and precision tools to assemble or repair parts and products.
  • Work with other members of the line or group in order to assemble products.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (including OSHA).
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, including tools daily.
  • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures.Β 
  • Resolve assembly problems; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer's instructions.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish results.
  • Test finished products for defects.Β 
  • Conduct quality control checks.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to adhere to a shift work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Must be familiar with computer-controlled production equipment, e-mail, and basic computer skills required; specific equipment training will be provided
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and other process documentation and procedures
  • Cares about customer, both internal and external, and understands need for satisfaction from customers

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
