Who we are looking for
The Assembly Supervisor will communicate organization needs, oversee employees' performance, provide guidance, support, and identify development needs and manage the relationship between assembler staff and organization so that each is successful. The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for the manufacturing process in their designated assembly area and report to the Shift Supervisor. You will create daily work schedules, follow standard manufacturing procedures, and monitor work to meet product specifications and production target goals. You are able to resolve production problems and answer assembler staff questions about processes, methods, and equipment. You will deliver training for new processes, and equipment and train new employees. You will conduct quality testing on parts and completed products as necessary. You will review daily assembly production records and identify trends and potential issues. You will coordinate with the Plant Manager and Shift Supervisor and other leadership team members to support the team. You're able to make suggestions to improve processes and are a knowledge resource for other team members. You're able to put together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. You verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
- Discern the quality of parts and materials used in production
- Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process
- Follow company procedures and directives.
- Test finished products for defects.
- Maintain the tools used to assemble/create products.
- Keep a clean and well-maintained workplace
- Always adhere to safety rules and regulations
- Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
- Maintains equipment integrity.
- Inventories tools, parts, and supplies.
- Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Detail-oriented and consistent.
- Works well as a productive member of a team.
- Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in assembly and/or automotive a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Must wear gloves and ear protection.
Overview of Compensation & Benefits:
- Medical, Dental & Vison
- Competitive salary $65,000-$70,000
- 401(k) plan with employer match
- PTO to start: 80 hours of vacation, 48 hours of Sick Time & 40 hours of Floating Holiday
- Up to 3k on qualified education reimbursement
