In Private Wealth Management, we help our clients pursue their wealth management goals through careful advice & astute investment management. PWM Engineering plays a pivotal role in building the tools and applications our business needs to effectively manage and support our client's diverse requirements. We support the entire user experience starting with onboarding through to trading, reporting, as well as providing clients access to their portfolios online via native iOS and Android apps. We also build and support numerous applications for our Business and Operations users to help them effectively manage risk and provide the best white-glove service possible to our clients.

The Data Distribution team supports PWM's Quantum data distribution platform which is considered the primary source of data relating to Client Holdings, Transactions, Taxlots and reference data like Accounts, Products and Prices in PWM. Several teams/projects requires this data and our team has built several distribution channels for different usage patterns.

We are currently enhancing our platform based on new business requirements as well as increasing stability and scalability needs to support a growing business. The platform will be required to manage very high volumes of requests with varying time sensitivities and prioritizing across multiple tenants via an event based framework.

Your Impact

  • As a member of the team, you will gain satisfaction though adding value and contributing to the team's initiatives.
  • Propose, design, and implement software solutions to enhance our services and enable new business functions.
  • Perform hands-on development; participate in architecture and design discussions, design reviews.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams across the firm to develop data feeds, APIs, processing pipelines.
  • Work closely with the global user group to support and enhance the applications to meet new requirements.
  • Understand the business workflows to assist in analyzing and converting business requirements into technical specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in Java & J2EE frameworks.
  • Experience with producing scalable software designs.
  • Experience in Spring, REST services, JMS, Hibernate/JPA, JSON is required.
  • Experience working with SQL based database like Sybase or MemSQL.
  • Experience with designing/delivering messaging-based solutions (e.g. Kafka)
  • Experience in working with CI/CD, GIT, Jira methodologies
  • Strong sense of ownership, focus on quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and innovation
  • Strong communication skills (in person, phone, and email).
  • Solid understanding of object oriented skills and frameworks.
  • Capable of working with a global team and thriving in a team development environment.
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to deal with real world business issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hadoop/Big data/Apache Spark.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
