Assistant Commerce Editor

Gallery Media Group is a rapidly growing digital media company whose mission is to “make positivity louder.” Its three key sectors include: 

• Media + Publishing: PureWow, a women’s lifestyle brand; ONE37pm, a men’s lifestyle brand at the intersection of culture, music, NFTs and sports; and a collection of premium podcast shows that includes the GaryVee Audio Experience, Card Talk, In House with Arielle Charnas, Royally Obsessed and The CMO Podcast with Jim Stengel
• Social Portfolio: 50+ owned and operated accounts across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest, including running TikTok accounts for brand partners
• Talent and Influencer Arm: Strategy and activations ranging from celebrity partnerships and stunts to year long ambassadorships and campaign work across platforms and categories

PureWow is seeking a full-time Assistant Commerce Editor to assist with the uploading of our revenue-generating shopping content, which spans the verticals of fashion, beauty, wellness, home, family and more. This candidate will be a key part of the affiliate editorial team and will work closely with PureWow's Growth team and affiliate partners. This person should be a CMS whiz and an energetic self-starter with strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is also someone who is comfortable writing short, snappy copy and selecting shopping products.

Responsibilities:

Perform administrative tasks for the commerce team, including:

• Entering content into the CMS in a speedy and efficient manner
• Re-formatting freelancer stories to fit technical standards as needed
• Photo resizing and light editing in Photoshop
• Write light email copy and build content into the email system as necessary
• Source products for email copy in line with our editorial directives
• Write short sales and trend stories as needed
• Participate in editorial meetings
• Provide general support to the editorial team

Qualifications and Experience:

• 1-2 years of previous experience in an editorial role focused on CMS work (WordPress experience is a plus)
• Proficiency in working with content management systems and Photoshop
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually, as needed
• A knack and passion for product discovery
• Experience working with affiliate partners and networks such as Skimlinks and Amazon preferred, but not required

In 3 Months You Will...

• Be proficient in our internal CMS system, email system, Photoshop and our editorial workflow, from uploading stories to filing/publishing them
• Be proficient at pitching and writing short affiliate content, both for stories and email, across a variety of verticals in the PureWow voice.
• Be proficient at selecting products for our email shoppers
• Collaborate with all of editorial to produce high standards of finished work in a timely manner.
