Assistant, Commercial Support

Location: Melvile, NY (in office). 

Commercial Support Assistant 

EPIC Insurance Brokers has an opening for a full-time Commercial Support Assistant position in the Melville or Westhampton Beach, NY office. This position assists Commercial Lines Service Account Managers on a daily basis as needed; with primary responsibility in issuing Proof of Insurance (Certificates).    

Primary responsibilities of the position:

• Processing of Audits and Endorsements per company procedures
• Prepare insurance documentation including certificates, EPI’s, loss runs, and vehicle identification cards
• Set up and maintain client service activity files and filing (electronic), scanning and copying of all required documents
• Perform other related support duties as requested.
• Prepare and print proposals, schedules, and other reports
• Comply with all internal procedures and practices while demonstrating the ability to meet service performance and quality standards
• Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills & Requirements:

• One-year insurance agency experience preferred but not required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, and instruction from multiple Account Managers and Producers
• Excellent phone and interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
• Travel between offices for educational or other mandatory meetings is occasionally required

Educational requirement:

• College degree preferred
• Broker’s license is required / can be obtained once hired

The national average salary for this role is $50,000 to $60,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
