The Role

Metropolis is looking for an Assistant Controller to work under the direction of the Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead the accounting team of a fast growing company. The position will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting tasks, month-end close, and financial reporting. While focusing on managing the financials of our hundreds of locations, the Assistant Controller will also assist in the year-end close process, the annual audit, and other projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, and treasury
• Produce accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
• Build and retain a high-performing accounting team
• Maintain adequate records for annual audit and tax returns
• Research and implement new accounting standards in compliance with GAAP
• Coordinate year end audit and compliance activities
• Develop and monitor policies and procedures consistent with a strong internal control environment
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

Requirements 

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Active CPA license
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university
• Experience leading a team and driving performance with emphasis on continuous improvement
• Ability to manage time for multiple tasks to meet established deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience at a high growth company and/or in the parking industry strongly preferred

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base pay is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
