Assistant Controller

HomeWorks Energy is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, internal control policies and procedures, financial reporting, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Partner with all company departments and assist with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting and maintaining proper SOP documentation
• Identify and work to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances and maintain balance sheet accounts
• Drive the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare timely financial statements that summarize the company’s financial status
• Assist with the preparation of reporting and audits in a timely manner
• Manage and comply with reporting requirements and tax filings
• Act as a team player and complete additional duties as necessary

Requirements

• Relevant work experience with a high transaction volume environment managing direct reports
• 7+ years of overall experience, preferably with a $100M+ gross Revenue company
• Bachelors in Accounting
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
• Salesforce experience a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay organized and maintain high level attention to detail
