The Opportunity: 

Factorial Energy is seeking an Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in our Billerica/Woburn location. In this role, you will be an integral part of the finance department, supporting the VP of Finance in managing all aspects of financial operations. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, internal control compliance, and supporting our financial system implementation. 

In this role, you will: 

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. 
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations. 
• Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data. 
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews. 
• Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for process improvement or cost-saving opportunities. 
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting software systems or tools to streamline financial operations. 
• Mentor and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed. 
• This is an in-person role with the option to telecommute 1 day per week (dependent on business needs and workload). 

We are looking for people who: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred. 
• Proven experience (5-8+ years) in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis. 
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations. 
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial modeling and analysis. 
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
• Previous experience with Netsuite is a plus. 
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is a plus.
