Assistant Director - Trading Compliance
Reports To: Director of Compliance
Department: Legal/Compliance
The Assistant Director - Trading Compliance will be responsible for directing the Company's Trading Compliance function. The position will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day regulatory activities and ensuring the Company's sports wagering operations are compliant with the applicable state regulations in the jurisdictions which the company operates. The successful candidate will be proficient in researching and interpreting gaming regulations and applying to the Company's business model.
Job Description:
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective policies and procedure for the Trading Compliance function.
- Oversee Trading Compliance team members and be responsible for setting priorities and deadlines that are aligned with the Company's goals and objectives. Establish quality control measure to encompass reviews of work product, effective training, and mentoring of staff.
- Manages the maintenance of detailed records regarding approved leagues/events and restrictions for all gaming-regulated jurisdictions, and effectively communicating requirements to the Company's trading team.
- Works with the Director of Compliance, and the Trading Management/Digital leadership team on projects and trading initiatives. Additionally, works with this group to identify potential risk areas for the business and ways to mitigate.
- Analyze and communicate regulatory requirements in new/emerging jurisdictions as they related to trading functions in support of new state launches.
- Serve as the point-of-contact for trading compliance related matters with gaming regulators in all jurisdictions where the Company operates.
- Work with the regulatory compliance team with the development of internal controls and House Rules specific to the Trading function.
- Generate trading incident reports and oversee remediation efforts for trading related errors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in managing a functional area within gaming compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and strong writing abilities.
- Critical thinking, decision making and organizational skills.
- Understand the dynamics of competing business priorities.
- Ability to perform research on new state regulations as new states legalize sports betting.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible Schedule (on-call)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Essential Functions/Exposures:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Must be able to type and talk on the phone for extended periods
