Assistant District Manager

Summary:
The Monterey County Herald is seeking an Assistant District Manager to join our team! This position supports the Circulation department by working in the field to ensure delivery to missed customers, down routes, and carrier shortages. The role also works in the warehouse assisting with newspaper distributions center operations.
What you will do:

• Assist with daily newspaper operations
• Deliver down routes as needed
• Service customer complaints/missed deliveries
• Oversee newspaper distribution/dock operations, including staging of products at distribution center
• Provide route orientation for new carriers upon carriers' request
• Update and maintain route delivery lists
• Run and review daily complaint reports
• Resolve customer service issues and communicate customer service complaints
• Verify deliveries as needed

What you will bring:

• Possess a high level of customer service ability to resolve issues and develop partnerships with both internal and external customers
• Work independently and in team situations and communicate clearly in both written and oral situations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and under deadline
• Initiative and innovation qualities and ability to apply new ideas and technologies
• Computer literate - Word, Excel, Google office products, circulation systems
• Acts with highest degree of integrity all transactions and demonstrates respect for diversity
• High School diploma
• Prior customer service and warehouse experience is preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

The hourly wage is $18.00 - $19.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
