The Role

Because of Alice (part of the AYBL Group) are looking for an Assistant Garment Technologist with knowledge across multiple product categories and fabrications with particular interest in wovens. You will support the development of a new product ensuring its fit, function and consistency with existing styles. While taking ownership of the day to day admin task of the garment technology department. This role would be ideal for a recent graduate who has undergone a placement throughout their degree and is passionate about developing a career as a garment technologist.

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Supporting in the development of a new product ensuring its fit, function and consistency with existing styles. 
• Tracking sample progress with suppliers in line with deadlines 
• Responsible for checking in, measuring and steaming all samples ahead of fit sessions 
• Supporting during fit sessions, taking clear feedback notes and images 
• Assisting our Garment Technologist in preparing feedback comments to supplier
• Supporting in reviewing PP and gold seal samples to ensure they confirm and adhere to all agreed standards of fit, quality and labelling
• General day-to-day organisation and admin of the garment technology including management of fit samples, QC reports, fabric testing, lab dips 
• And any other duties required by your manager

Personal Specification

• Previous experience in a Assistant Garment Technologist/admin role or placement would be advantageous but not crucial
• Degree in Garment Technology or similar
• Good knowledge of multi product fit across womenswear
• Good knowledge of pattern cutting and grading
• Excellent attention to detail, driven work ethic and an ability to work to deadlines whilst taking ownership of your work is essential 
• Passionate about progressing a career in garment technology 
• An awareness of women’s fashion with an eye for premium, luxury details and finishes 
• Motivated, hard working and highly organised individual 
• Capable of working independently and as part of a small team
