Assistant Geologist

• Pay Rate: $27.70/ hr on W2

Description:

• Our team is looking for a 1 to 2 year geologist for a six month contract work position with the option for another 6 month extension and if all goes well transition to a BMcD EO after 12 months. They would be working in the Remediation Services group on various assignments.
• Perform field activities related to the project
• Perform work in accordance with the project Health and Safety Program
• Oversee drilling activities and log soil
• Oversee installation of monitoring wells, soil gas wells and prepare installation logs
• Be responsible for calibrating hand-held safety monitoring equipment
• Complete all corresponding field sheets and chains of custody
• Collect soil, sediment, water table, groundwater and soil gas samples
• Prepare reports including regional geology, hydrogeology, site-specific geologic cross-sections, hydro graphs, conceptual site models
• Evaluate data results and recommend next steps
• Perform activities related to onsite remedial action activities, such as H&S monitoring, ambient air monitoring, collect and replace time integration samples, collect confirmation soil samples, collect waste water treatment samples
• Prepare, and label samples for shipment to the laboratory
• Prepare groundwater plume maps and assist with modeling
• Other duties as assigned.
• Percentage of Travel: 75% travel

• Requirements:
• College Degree in geology, hydrogeology or similar field preferred.
