Role Summary
Business partner to Operations team supporting Director of Operations and Finance Director and working with Divisional Controllers. This role includes but not limited to financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, balance sheet reviews, working capital management, and decision support.
Key Responsibilities
• Review financial performance of operating divisions with management team in monthly flash calls• Follow-up on financial issues as required by Operations Teams• Prepare various financial analysis to support decision making• Coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process for Magna Seating in line with Magna Corporate• Review divisional budgets and forecast with Operations teams• Complete consolidation and analysis of all financials required for review with Executive Management• Perform balance sheet reviews to identify issues and judgemental accruals• Oversee the management of working capital by working with divisions• Track and understanding financial impacts of outstanding commercial issues and support Sales team in resolving issues• Establish product line/program based financial reporting with the divisions• Identify and implement improvements in reporting (e.g. standardizing accounting among divisions for certain issues)• Work with Magna Corporate to standardize accounting for foreign exchange across all divisions• Review Financial Performance Scorecards and related actions plans with Operations team• Oversee and streamline the current process within finance for the ISR files to complete Flashes, Walks, etc.• Maintain connection with division regarding current financial issues• Streamline reporting process to make it easier, more effective and useful• Identify internal control weakness and suggest improvements• Work with divisions to streamline clerical processes for AR/AP, etc• Create new reporting tools, as necessary, in Power BI and other tools• Champion and support the implementation of OneStream for Magna Seating NA• Post-close monthly review of financial statements and support and training new divisional controllers• Oversee financial controlling for new divisions and mitigation of any negative audit findings from internal and external auditors at divisions• Be the point person for the Finance share-point site by directing IT to implement improvements, etc• Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations. Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety. Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education• Bachelor's degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills• Minimum eight (8) years' experience in accounting to include managing company financial summaries such as month-end, year-end, and operation reviews, managing the year-end auditing process, developing business plans, developing cost containment systems, researching, and analyzing cost containment/profit improvement systems, and analyzing, recommending, and managing financial information systems.• Must be familiar with cost accounting methods relating to OEM applications in a manufacturing and corporate environment.• Broad knowledge and application of modern quantitative and qualitative financial analysis techniques such as cash flow, new present value, return of assets/investments, differential analysis, depreciation, working capital and/or investments.• Broad knowledge of Information Technology products including MRP systems, financial systems (SAP, HFM), and IT related hardware and applications, including system set up and new migrations project plans; very strong end-user skills with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, database applications etc. as well as email systems, etc.• Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience.• Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations. • Demonstrated successful performance with independent and team problem solving, presentations, leadership, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks within and across departments to meet changing deadlines.
