Primary Purpose: The Assistant Manager will support UK/European store construction projects for Tapestry's brands from inception to completion, including new store openings, enhancements and fixture drops.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Store Construction to:
- Own and manage small to medium sized projects and assist the Store Construction team with the successful delivery of large-scale projects
- Frequently travel throughout Europe to visit new and existing sites
- Work with Direct and Wholesale retail markets and distributor operators globally
- Support projects in Asia, ANZ, and UAE as needed
- Develop the critical path and timeline for each project with Microsoft Project
- Forecast, track, and manage project budgets
- Negotiate with vendors/contractors to meet financial goals
- Attend landlord meetings to understand site conditions, fit-out requirements, local codes, building conditions, timelines, approvals, etc.
- Exercise project tendering/bidding process from various contractors/vendors
- Consolidate detailed site survey package from vendors for Tapestry Architecture team to be able to accurately design each project
- Review construction fit-out drawings and fixture shop drawings from contractor/vendors
- Coordinate with Architects and Contractors to execute store design
- Produce weekly status reports on all projects, track all project stages from landlord's feedback, design development, material orders, and vendors/contractor's progress
- Consolidate cost evaluation and invoices into summary for each project
- Manage millwork deliveries in conjunction with Tapestry Supply Chain/Production team
- Provide site inspections for ongoing projects, produce punch lists both during and at the time of completion of each project, and produce Post Occupancy Evaluation
- Conclude budgetary close-out of projects within acceptable timeframes (90 Days)
- Deliver execution and follow-up on all construction/manufacturing warranties
- Assist the PM/SPM in developing and maintaining historical construction cost data specific to region
- Assist Store Operations and Wholesale teams with small maintenance projects, and provide technical support
- Work on ad-hoc projects
The accomplished individual will have:
- 3-5 years' experience in retail construction and fit-out management (retail projects/store opening experience is a must), retail fixture development, architecture and building/construction
- Extensive knowledge of CAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Highly organized, analytical and decisive
- Strong multi-tasking and adaptability skills
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills
- Strategic thinking & influence
- Strong code of ethics and protect brand integrity
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and support a positive team environment
- European language skills are desirable
